This morning at 9:14, Charles Brown's secretary emailed Karla, "Dr. Brown would like to meet with you this morning at 10 a.m. if possible ... Please reply ASAP."
Then the secretary called Karla. Curious why Brown would want to meet with her twice in less than 24 hours – and with only 45 minutes' notice – Karla asked why.
The secretary said Brown also invited the leaders of the campus TV and radio stations to discuss "the restructuring student media."
Why the rush? The secretary couldn't say. And Karla can't make it. She works. So she's scrambling to find someone to go in her place.

I was fired on May 18, 2010, and given three days' notice. I wasn't bitter about it. Just confused.
Student Affairs says it wants to "upgrade" the University Press by hiring a full-time adviser. But it hasn't announced when that will happen, other than to say "in the near future."
Now the UP has no adviser at all. So I volunteered to do it for free if the staff wanted me to. Their vote was unanimous.
